Pine Valley High School is a Christ-centered community of learners. We believe that spiritual formation of our Christian beliefs and academic rigor create a positive culture where all students are free to discover their full human potential through scholarly pursuits, athletics and service leadership. It is this belief which we have enjoyed that forms the theme for the establishment of Pine Valley High School.
Our History as Founder dates back to December, 1960 when we first met at a Baptist Student Fellowship programme, organized by Baptist Students of First Baptist Church, Jos, where we and our parents worshiped. My wife's parents were very active members of the Board of Deacon, while my father and mother too served as active church members. We developed a true friendship at that young age and remained so until we got married on June 30th, 1973, in Cincinnati, Ohio. We engaged things of God, sharing of the word of God as well as prayerful lifestyles. Whenever we examined that which has kept us close as friends, even at 55 years of friendship, 42 of which is for marriage, we had always concluded that it is our faith in Christ that did it! It is this faith that we had built on Christ our solid rock that has kept us this far. But, we did not develop this faith overnight. Our belief and faith in Christ was planted in us by those Baptist Schools and Churches where we grew and were nurtured since our elementary and secondary school days. We received all rounded spiritual and sound academic training which gave us extremely sound training to getting us where we are today. Our schools and churches deposited much good in us, and in tandem to build us socially, academically and spiritually. It is in giving all glory to God, that my wife and I in our appreciating God, thought of nothing better than to give back to the society that which gave us a good beginning, the establishment of an academic institution for Christ, the Pine Valley High School, a legacy, to the Glory of God.
The school officially opened to pioneer students on October 2, 2015 with a student population of six(6) students comprising of five(5) boys and one (1) girl: Adedoye Eniola, Adeoye Obaloluwa, Alagbe Segun, Makinde Ayomide, Owolabi Sogo Samson, and Yusuf Samad. These were the students which formed the pioneer class at the beginning of the first term. But after the first term, only three (3) resumed for the second tern. At the beginning of the third term however, two of the three students who had left at the end of the first term, returned for the third term, thus giving a total of five pioneer students which completed the first academic year. For academic and non-academic staff, the school started with a total of nine (9) including the Acting Principal, and seven(7) staff respectively. For the second academic year, additional academic staff also joined the system, bringing the academic staff strength to 15 (fifteen) with some part time staff inclusive. For the second year, the number of non-academic staff increased to eight(8). In December 16th, 2015, the school had its first Christmas carol and it was a good experience for staff and students. The 2015/2016 Academic year ended with celebrations and thanksgiving service attended by parents, students and staff.
